Murdered for Just Rs 110: Hyderabad Delivery Workers Crush Labourer’s Head With Stones During Brutal Robbery
A labourer who came to Hyderabad in search of work was brutally murdered during a robbery in Secunderabad. Police arrested two delivery workers accused of luring the victim to a deserted road and crushing his head with stones before fleeing with just Rs 110 and a mobile phone.
According to a report, the deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Jai Prakash Deshmukh, who had come to Hyderabad in search of employment. He frequently stayed at different construction sites due to the nature of his work. On June 2, he travelled to Secunderabad to meet his brother, who lives in Miyapur.
The following morning, on June 3, police discovered his blood-soaked body on the bypass road between the railway overbridge and Tukaramgate. The crime scene presented a horrifying picture. Two large blood-stained stones, an empty liquor bottle and the victim’s scattered bag were found nearby. During the initial investigation, police determined that the assailants had repeatedly struck Deshmukh on the head with heavy stones, killing him in an exceptionally brutal manner.
To crack the case, investigators examined CCTV footage from the area. According to police, the two accused spotted Deshmukh wandering alone near Monda Market and identified him as an easy target. They allegedly approached him and falsely offered to drop him at Secunderabad Railway Station on their electric motorcycle.
Instead of taking him to the station, the accused reportedly diverted him to a deserted and poorly lit bypass road where there was little chance of intervention. Once there, they allegedly surrounded him and attempted to rob him of his belongings and cash.
Police said Deshmukh resisted the robbery and fought back. The confrontation then escalated into extreme violence. The accused allegedly picked up two large stones lying on the roadside and repeatedly smashed them onto his head until he became motionless.
Despite carrying out such a horrific crime, the accused allegedly managed to steal only Rs 110 in cash and a basic mobile phone. Investigators said that in pursuit of a small amount of money, the attackers took the life of an innocent man and fled the scene under the cover of darkness.
Following the arrests, police recovered the looted items based on information provided by the accused. The case has shocked residents and highlighted the disturbing extent of violence that can accompany even minor robbery attempts, turning a search for livelihood into a tragic and fatal encounter.
